Learning Seed officially joined the HealthCraft consortium in Letterkenny, Ireland for our kick-off meeting on 30/11/2023 & 01/12/2023—an inspiring start to an Erasmus+ journey that blends health education with digital creativity.

What is HealthCraft?

HealthCraft is an EU-funded Erasmus+ initiative designed to help primary school children (8–12) build healthier habits in a way that feels natural to them: through play, storytelling, and Minecraft-based learning. The project focuses on four core topics: Healthy Eating, Physical Activity, Quality Sleep, and Healthy Minds.

What happened at the kick-off in Letterkenny

During our first in-person collaboration in Letterkenny, project partners aligned on:

  • the shared vision and impact we want to create for children, teachers, and families

  • the roadmap for developing learning resources that are fun, practical, and classroom-ready

  • the way schools will be involved in testing and improving the materials throughout the project lifecycle

We also strengthened our collaboration culture—because projects like this aren’t built by one organisation, but by a team that combines education, health expertise, research, and tech innovation.

What the project will deliver

HealthCraft is creating a rich set of open educational resources, including:

  • a video training library with short, engaging videos

  • Minecraft Education worlds built around health challenges and real-life habits

  • a Teacher Toolkit with activities and lesson plans to support implementation in the classroom

Project partners

HealthCraft is led by Atlantic Technological University (Ireland), with partners across Ireland, Greece, and the Netherlands—including Learning Seed and Scoil Cholmcille (Letterkenny).
