Uncovering the strength and supportive family dynamics

In today’s rapidly evolving society, characterized by the accelerated pace of work, heightened everyday demands, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 era, there is a notable transformation in family dynamics. It is evident that the familial bond requires fortification, as the time allocated by each member is considerably less than in previous times. Despite the availability of new insights into family functioning, there is a challenge in both recognizing and implementing these novel techniques. Consequently, the overall impact on family dynamics is discernible, leading to a sense of insecurity and hindering the development of strength and self-confidence among younger members. These circumstances underline the urgent need to recognize the importance of family dynamics. It is fundamental to address specific methodologies for fostering dynamic relationships within the family and to understand the results of applying these methods.

Objectives

The goals of family dynamics training for adults include a multifaceted approach. Participants will gain an understanding of contemporary family dynamics and the challenges posed by social changes. The training emphasizes effective communication skills and conflict resolution strategies within the family unit. Building emotional intelligence, strengthening parenting skills and promoting a positive family culture are key aspects. In addition, participants will explore the mindful use of technology for family connections, develop tools to measure progress, and prioritize self-care. The goal of the training is to create adaptive individuals who can navigate the complexities of modern family life, cultivating support networks and enriching their overall well-being.

Methodology

The methodology for family dynamics training will use a theoretical and experiential approach; it will combine theory of new practices and their importance in the modern family, interactive workshops, case studies and group discussions to facilitate a deep understanding of theoretical concepts and their practical applications; it will embed real-life scenarios and role-playing exercises to enhance participants’ skills in communication, conflict resolution and parental care. The training incorporates reflection sessions to encourage self-awareness and personal growth. In addition, participants will engage in hands-on activities to develop specific strategies for implementing positive change in their families.

In the starting point, 4 questions, will be asked to the participants to get introduced and to foster a more emotionally connected environment for our training (thinking of a family):

  1. What can I do more to make you feel more close to me?
  2. What can I do more to make you lean on me emotionally?
  3. What do you wish I understood more about who you are or what you value?
  4. What are your favorite stories from childhood and why? (writers: Tom McCullough & Keith Whitaker)

Participants Profile

Participants in family dynamics training are expected to represent different backgrounds and have different levels of education. This diversity is integral as it promotes the sharing of unique perspectives and introduces valuable tools that respond to a wide range of experiences. This inclusiveness aims to make training a valuable and applicable resource for all stakeholders.
